We urge Supervisors to invest in county services

TO: The San Diego County Board of Supervisors

FROM: SEIU-represented County employees and supporters

Supervisors, we urge you to stand up for county services, and the workers who provide them, so we can all live in safe, healthy communities. We need a contract that lifts up workers and protects our families and union rights, so that we can continue to provide the vital frontline services our communities depend on.

WE CALL ON THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS TO PROVIDE A CONTRACT THAT

  • Increases recruitment and retention: The county should be an inspiring place to work with competitive salaries and benefits.
  • Improves county culture: The county should have a safe workplace environment, which challenges and engages workers with growth and development opportunities.
  • Ends contracting out: The county should invest county resources in good union jobs, instead of inefficient and less accountable contractors.
  • Addresses cost-of-living: The county should make sure that the steeply rising cost of living is addressed in the wages and benefits of County Employees.
