On April 11th at 9:30 AM, The Academy of Alternative Energy, Sustainability and Logistics at Whites Creek High School (7277 Old Hickory Blvd Whites Creek, TN 37189) invites you to help students celebrate the ribbon cutting of their first solar installation! This was a student-led project with advisement from Energy Electives LLC. A curriculum is being developed to enhance future designs. The students look forward to more hands-on opportunities!
This project shows that communities on the frontlines of climate change, once educated, will be motivated to invest resources in renewable energy, like solar, as a solution that can also address issues such as the lack of entrepreneurship, sustainable economic development and energy equity. Adopting better policy toward increasing solar in the Southeast region – and Tennessee in particular, with its paltry use of solar power (0.3%) – is essential. We believe Tennessee must reclaim its status as a solar leader in the Southeast to meet the challenges we face in preserving our natural resources and making the health and well-being of every citizen a priority.
RSVP below to celebrate students paving the way for a clean energy future!
