On May 22nd, the US House passed the Trump administration's domestic policy agenda, called the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which threatens Medicaid access for 30,000 Montanans and potentially 10s of 1000s more. Unfortunately, Montana's Representatives Ryan Zinke and Troy Downing voted in support of the bill.

The bill is now headed to the US Senate. Using the form below, you can send a message to Senator Daines and Senator Sheehy.

The current Federal budget resolution negotiations include potential cuts to Medicaid that would impede the ability of Montanans to access the care they rely on. Taking away funding for Medicaid will risk the healthcare coverage of hundreds of thousands of Montanans and their families, jeopardize the strength of our healthcare infrastructure, especially in rural areas, and impact small business across the state that rely on Medicaid to keep their staff healthy.

Over 200,000 Montanans have access to life-saving, necessary care because of Medicaid.  It serves people in every community in Montana - big and small.  It covers over 80,000 children and one in four births. Over 20,000 Montana employers employ a worker on expanded adult Medicaid. Just in passing Medicaid Expansion alone, Montana sustained over 7,500 jobs.

Medicaid ensures hundreds of thousands of Montanans have access to healthcare coverage.  As a result, it has improved healthcare for all Montanans. When Montana expanded Medicaid to cover more adults, it enabled healthcare facilities to bring in more options for mental health and substance use treatments - services that are desperately needed in Montana. Medicaid is a lifeline for rural hospitals and healthcare providers providing the necessary infrastructure to maintain and add services our rural communities need and deserve. It has also increased the services Indian Health Services facilities can offer moving us closer toward closing the American Indian health disparities gap.

With a bipartisan coalition of Republicans and Democrats, Medicaid Expansion was passed through the 69th Legislative Session in record time. Montanans are united in protecting Medicaid and we urge you to join us in this fight! Please put Montanans first by voting NO on any proposed cuts to the Medicaid program.
