Become a Community Saftey Marshal Squad 

The NC Defense Leauge is a Black-led, statewide network of individuals, community organizations, and formations. We are committed to engaging in community defense to keep our people safe and grow our capacity to protect and defend our communities. The league was developed to respond to our governments, elected officials, and law enforcement unwillingness and inability to prioritize our community safety and wellness.  

This year has taught us that we need to do everything we can to keep our communities safe, healthy, and engage. 

So, we are looking for 1,000 + individuals from across the state of North Carolina who are willing to be trained in various community defense skills, including safety planning, marshaling, and de-escalation. And who are interested in developing community alternatives to safety to keep marginalized communities safe. The 2020 Marshal Squad's first assignment is working to keep our community members safe as they enter polling locations. We will provide training and connect you to organizations that have developed community defense plans. All Individuals will be compensated, and all bodies and abilities are welcomed.
