Poll Worker - Texas Voter Protection

Due to the pandemic, we are seeing a shortage of Poll Workers across the country. We need enough (paid) Election Workers to make sure lines aren't long, and locations stay open.
(This is an in-person, paid position with the county.)

You don't need any previous experience.
**People who speak multiple languages are HIGHLY encouraged to apply**

To be a Poll Worker, you must be registered to vote in the county you work.
**HIGH SCHOOLERS: You can work at polls as long as you are 16 years old, a US citizen, and enrolled in a public, private, or home school.**

  • Before you begin training, you will sign up for a 1 hour (unpaid) info session presented by Texas Civil Rights Project to learn more about the process.
  • Your County will contact you if they are interested in hiring you.
  • You will attend a virtual paid training presented by your county election office (usually at least 4 hours).
  • You sign up to work as you are available during the entire voting period (Election Day shifts are usually about 13 hours commitment).
  • After Election Day, TX Civil Rights Project will debrief your experience to help better the process for the future.
**A school district may excuse a student for the purpose of serving as an Early Voting and/or Election Day clerk for a maximum of two days in a school year.**
