Right now, the US Congress is working to bailout large industries and help unemployed Americans through one of the largest stimulus plans in US history. However, absent from the industries being helped is the renewable energy industry.(1) It was hoped that federal tax credits that help people afford solar panels and other energy upgrades would continue, instead of being slowly rolled back each year from Trump's 2017 tax giveaway. Many of the energy efficient and renewable energy companies are not giant corporations, but small businesses that apply insulation, improve heating systems and install solar panels. If there is any industry we should be working hard to preserve, it should be the small businesses that work every day to fight climate change. With a large percentage of carbon emissions coming from buildings and vehicles, we literally cannot solve climate change without these trades and manufacturing jobs!
