Most of us, no matter our color, want Minnesota to be a place where freedom is for everyone. But time and again, we have witnessed evidence of horrors committed against Black people by police, while certain politicians shame and blame the very victims of this brutality to distract us from their failures to ensure we have the care, security and support we need. We are coming together to demand that liberty and justice be for all by moving our money to the services and supports we need and away from the policing that hurts our communities. Together, we've already banned choke holds statewide, redefined safe schools in some cities and removed monuments dedicated to those who meant us harm. As we unite across race and geography, lifting our voices for the many like, Daunte Wright, George Floyd, and Philando Castille, we demand that those killed, their families and our communities receive true justice by our lives being funded, our children the ability to breathe, and our dream of a Minnesota where we can thrive is realized.
