Action Alert

Help Free Minnie to an Elephant Sanctuary

For over forty years, the Commerford Zoo has exploited Minnie and forced her to perform for their financial gain. In 2019, both of Minnie's elephant companions died. She is now held alone, without the psychologically necessary companionship of other elephants, at the Commerford Zoo's small farm in Goshen, CT. Last year, the Commerford Zoo publicly acknowledged that it can no longer afford Minnie's most basic needs such as food and veterinary care. It's more urgent than ever that Minnie be sent to an elephant sanctuary where she will be properly cared for and treated with dignity and respect.

For over three years, the Nonhuman Rights Project has been fighting for Minnie's freedom. The Commerford Zoo has the power to send Minnie to a sanctuary right now. Both The Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee and the Performing Animal Welfare Society have offered to provide Minnie with lifelong care and refuge at no cost to the Commerford Zoo.

Please complete this action alert, politely urging the Commerford Zoo to finally put Minnie's needs first and send her to a sanctuary.
