In November 2024, voters in Washington, DC, will choose their most immediate elected officials: Advisory Neighborhood Commissioners. ANC seats are unpaid, part-time, nonpartisan, advisory roles, and are the official voice of their neighborhoods. There are 46 Advisory Neighborhood Commissions in the District, made up of 345 commissioners representing single-member districts of about 2,000 people. Though GGWash will endorse in ANC elections, attending this training is not a requirement to be endorsed by us. Anyone interested in running for an ANC seat is welcome to attend; alignment with GGWash's stances on housing, transportation, and land use is not necessary.
