Greater Greater Washington 2024 Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner candidate training

In November 2024, voters in Washington, DC, will choose their most immediate elected officials: Advisory Neighborhood Commissioners. ANC seats are unpaid, part-time, nonpartisan, advisory roles, and are the official voice of their neighborhoods. There are 46 Advisory Neighborhood Commissions in the District, made up of 345 commissioners representing single-member districts of about 2,000 people. Learn more about ANCs here, and see the Board of Elections' information for ANC candidates here.

Join GGWash for a virtual-only training on how to run for ANC, and for a discussion on how to serve if you're elected. (This is the first of two GGWash trainings for prospective ANC candidates. The second will be in-person-only, on Sun., July 14, 2024, from 3–5 p.m., at Grand Duchess in Adams Morgan; sign up here.)

Though GGWash will endorse in ANC elections, attending this training is not a requirement to be endorsed by us. Anyone interested in running for an ANC seat is welcome to attend; alignment with GGWash's stances on housing, transportation, and land use is not necessary. Email Alex Baca, DC policy director, with any questions, comments, suggestions, or requests at abaca@ggwash.org.
