Demand the House Pass the Respect for Marriage Act
With the overturning of Roe V. Wade, the extremist conservative majority on the Supreme Court made it clear that all of our rights are at risk. The most radical justices wrote in their concurring opinions that abortion rights are not the end of their agenda. Fundamental rights like marriage equality, contraception, and more could be next.

Across the country, the Republican Party is waging an all-out assault on the rights and dignity of LGBTQ+ people. Republicans are using lies and homophobic tropes of pedophilia to spread panic and have even passed notorious “Don't Say Gay” bills through state legislatures. It is more important than ever to stand against discrimination and protect the LGBTQ+ community.

This is why Democrats are hard at work to protect our freedoms. JDCA is proud to support The Respect for Marriage Act, which codifies the protections afforded by Obergefell v. Hodges making marriage equality the law of the land, and will repeal laws that define marriage in ways that discriminate on the basis of gender and sexual orientation. As conservatives target our rights, it is more important than ever to take legislative action and protect marriage equality. Jewish Dems thanks the Senate for passing this critical legislation and urges the House to swiftly do the same.

Jewish Democrats have always been proud to support and celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and Democratic leaders who support LGBTQ+ rights. Our work standing up for human rights and equality under the law for LGBTQ+ individuals is more important than ever.
