We demand bold action on the hospital workforce crisis in Pittsburgh

A recent survey from the University of Pittsburgh School of Social work found that 93% of Pittsburgh hospital workers are thinking of leaving their jobs after two years of facing battlefield-like conditions at work.

Elected officials from the Pennsylvania General Assembly plus our city and county governments are coming together to hold a hearing on this crisis. Sign this petition to tell them that we are demanding bold action from government and hospital executives to fix this crisis, and to ensure that workers are at the center of every solution:

To Rep. Summer Lee and the Pittsburgh Hospital Workers Taskforce:

We appreciate you taking the first step toward addressing the hospital workforce crisis by holding a hearing on September 26th. As you know, the magnitude of this crisis can't be understated. 93% of hospital workers say they are thinking of leaving their jobs, and 90% say they currently don't have the staff to handle the workload.

We all depend on our hospitals to be there when we are sick and at our most vulnerable, but this crisis raises the very real question of whether someone will be there when we need care? Please take this opportunity to listen to hospital workers, but then work with your colleagues at all levels of government to take bold action to meet hospital workers' needs, hold hospitals accountable, and make sure that hospital workers have a voice everywhere decisions are made that affect them and their patients.
