Tweet at Congress: Stop Funding Ethnic Cleansing- Support H.R. 2590 & end military funding to Israel

In May, Israel dropped bombs on Palestinians with nowhere to flee in blockaded Gaza, killing 254 Palestinians and displacing 77,000. At that same time, Israel shot live fire at Palestinians demonstrating for justice in the West Bank, killing at least 27 Palestinians. Israeli forces even fractured the spine of Palestinan child, Jana Kiswani, and shot her father when he came to her aid, simply for existing in their homes in Sheikh Jarrah, Jerusalem—homes Israel is trying to steal for Jewish Israeli settlers. Now at least 38 Palestinian families in Al Walaja and 16 Palestinian families in Silwan are under immediate threat of ethnic cleansing. Israel's brutal assault on Palestinians resisting in Jerusalem and across Palestine has continued to escalate, as Israel demolishes homes, attacks and jails protesters, collectively punishes prisoners, and bombs the Gaza Strip.

That's why organizers are calling this brutal targeting of Palestinian people a genocide. Palestinians are loudly and clearly demanding nothing short of an end to all to all U.S. complicity, but many Members of Congress have not even taken the most basic action to support Palestinian rights by cosponsoring legislation in Congress.

Representative Betty McCollum's bill, H.R. 2590, the Palestinian Children and Families Act insists on the rights to safety, dignity, and freedom for the Palestinian people: the freedom to thrive, free from child detention, home demolitions, continual Israeli annexation and land theft.

Together we must defund tax dollars from all systems of harm.

Speak up so our representatives hear that, at minimum, they must co-sponsor H.R. 2590, and should speak up to support Palestinian rights and end the flow of our tax dollars to Israel's ethnic cleansing and genocide of the Palestinian people.
