National parks around the country are taking “tentative” steps to reopen to the public.
But most Americans still do not have access to reliable COVID-19 testing. And in some areas, confirmed cases are actually rising in number.
With so much uncertainty -- and the threat of infection still significant -- it's simply too soon to reopen our national parks. And reopenings will continue to be premature until safety conditions at each park, for both park employees and visitors, can be assured -- which will not be possible until we have nationwide access to testing.
Sign our petition to tell the National Park Service: Don't reopen our national parks until conditions are safe for park employees and guests!
