Urge Swift Passage of the Build Back Better Act and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Framework

The Biden administration and the Democratic Congress began the process of renewing investment in the middle class by passing the American Rescue Plan. Now, two landmark bills - the Build Back Better Act and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Framework - will continue these once in a generation investments in physical infrastructure and America's social safety net. Jewish Dems are proud to support the Build Back Better Act and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Framework, and we call on Congress to quickly take action. 

Now is the time for transformative investment that will rebuild the middle class, repair our physical infrastructure, address economic inequality, combat climate change, and deliver justice for Americans who have been left behind, including communities of color and rural communities.

Through robust investment in the American people, the Build Back Better Act will fundamentally improve the lives and livelihoods of Americans by:

• Lowering the cost of healthcare and prescription drug prices;

• Expanding Medicare to cover hearing, dental and vision for seniors;

• Extending the increased Child Tax Credit which is expected to cut child poverty in half;

• Combating climate change and investing in clean energy jobs;

• Strengthening families by funding paid family and medical leave;

• Ensuring students have access to the education needed in the 21st century; and

• Reforming the tax code so the wealthiest individuals and corporations pay their fair share.

While the Build Back Better Act invests in the American people, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Framework will make crucial investments in America's physical infrastructure, including by:

• Modernizing and expanding transit and rail networks across the country;

• Repairing roads and bridges across the nation; 

• Delivering clean water to millions of families; 

• Adding charging stations for electric vehicles throughout the country;

• Electrifying thousands of school and transit buses across the country; and

• Increasing access to broadband nationwide.
