Tell Philly City Council: Support Banning Single-Use Plastic Bags

Philadelphia uses and tosses nearly 1 billion single-use plastic bags every year. The vast majority of these bags — nearly 91% — are never recycled, and they end up littering our neighborhoods, sitting in landfills that can leach into our groundwater, being dumped in rivers and oceans, or ending up in nearby incinerators that spew air pollution.

Thankfully, Philadelphia is working to join the hundreds of cities working to tackle our dependence on single-use plastics with proposed legislation that would ban single-use plastic bags. Send a message to Philadelphia's city council members urging them to support Bill #190610 today to put our environment and wildlife over waste!
