Help elect our progressive slate to Arnold Mayor and Arnold City Council!

Community First!

Aaron Moore has heard the stories from the people in his community: people expressing feelings of hopelessness, fear of speaking up and facing retaliation, people turning to drugs and alcohol to comfort themselves, and much more. He personally knows the struggles of growing up poor and being discarded. Growing up in the housing projects, Aaron now works for the housing authority, a job he sees as his way of giving back. “When I talk to the tenants, I build them up, because I know how it feels to be treated like a shadow,” says Aaron.

He is running for city council because he believes he can connect with his community, listen to concerns, and make a dedicated effort in creating sustainable change in his community. “I know as a leader, you have to take 'you' out of it,” says Aaron. “It's bigger than you, it's your community. This is why we talk about community first!”

Shannon Santucci was raised in Arnold and has spent her adult life serving Arnold, as a police officer for 12 years and as a community member for longer. Her parents raised her to be good to people, no matter what their race or gender or class. She has watched the deterioration and quality of life in Arnold reach an all time high – with landlords failing to take care of their properties, creating dirty and unsafe houses for their families, and current leadership extracting from the community and only thinking about themselves.

Shannon has been involved in running the community center, running clothing and food drives, and empowering individuals to choose the future they want. “Everything I do is for the good of the city,” says Shannon.

As the mayor of Arnold, she wants to advocate for her community – create ordinances that hold landlords accountable, maintain the streets and alleys, and bring in small businesses. Her message to voters and to community members is this: “You don't have to be afraid. There's nothing to fear. Now is the time to stand up.”
