IT'S OFFICIAL: The National Chicken Council (NCC) promotes suffering. It encourages chicken producers to continue using the violent practice of live-shackle slaughter.

With this gruesome slaughter method, chickens are slammed upside down into metal shackles, a process that often breaks their fragile legs. Their heads are dragged through an electrified stun bath before their throats are cut by an automatic blade. If any of this goes wrong, as it too often does, they will end up in the scalding tank while still conscious. They will literally be boiled alive. 

As the chicken industry trade association, the NCC has the power to influence multiple mega-corporations to end this abuse with a simple decision. Thousands of customers and activists are calling on this industry giant to use its power to end this torture. Add your voice: Tell the NCC to stop promoting suffering!

Right now, we have a unique opportunity to win this fight. Clint Rivers, the CEO of chicken producer Wayne Farms, was just reelected as the NCC's Chairman of the Board. Under Rivers's leadership, Wayne Farms has made substantial progress towards phasing out live-shackle slaughter at its facilities. Now he has a unique opportunity to create meaningful progress for the rest of the industry, too. If we aren't able to get the NCC on board with the changes we are demanding, millions of animals will face this gruesome slaughter. We must convince the NCC before it's too late!
