From the outset of the global pandemic, Georgia voters have borne the burden of long lines and extreme delays--in part due to staffing shortages at polling locations and a lack of adequate training for those poll workers who remained, often recruited at the last minute. The ACLU of Georgia's Poll Worker Recruitment Program seeks to address these shortages and ensure that highly-competent poll workers are signed-up, trained, and successfully deployed on Election Day in Georgia.
As part of these efforts, our Polling Precinct Adoption Program encourages organizations to sign up and serve together as poll workers. By partnering with the ACLU of Georgia, organizations and their members can ensure that precincts' staffing needs are met--and that members serving as poll workers are well-equipped to function as an experienced, efficient team on Election Day. Members of your organization can sign up to serve as poll workers using this form.
This agreement indicates the ACLU of Georgia's commitment to provide support to official partners interested in signing their members up to work the polls. We will:
Liaise with Georgia counties on your organization's behalf;
Help members officially sign-up with their counties to serve as poll workers, and;
Advocate for members to be grouped at the same polling locations.
The ACLU of Georgia does not guarantee your organization will be able to adopt a polling precinct, as all hiring decisions are at the discretion of each county. We will do our best to work with the county to ensure a smooth process.
We will offer additional training resources for poll workers, and can assist your members in resolving any questions as they are trained and placed by their county. No Georgian should be forced to overcome extensive obstacles just to cast their ballot, and by officially partnering with the us, your organization will help guarantee that every Georgia voter will be able to exercise their sacred right to vote.
The ACLU of Georgia and the Partner listed below agree to the terms of this Agreement in good faith. Please contact us at voting@acluga.org with any questions/concerns.
