Being a union member means having a strong voice for good jobs, living wages, healthy families, and a thriving democracy. By joining together with the over 19,000 SEIU 925 members in Washington State, we will have the power to ensure that the University of Washington works for us, our students, and the communities we serve.
When you sign this card, you will become a member of SEIU 925's UW Advising Staff union chapter. (Click here to fill out a different form if you are not Advising staff.) Advising staff at UW are raising the standard of the Advising profession by organizing for fair and equitable pay, professional development, workload sustainability, and working conditions that empower us to serve our students as best we can!
The two paragraphs below indicate that you:
1) want to become a member of SEIU 925 (for Advising staff, this means having a union election first); and
2) authorize paying union dues after our first Collective Bargaining Agreement has been ratified. (Union dues are currently set at 1.7% of gross annual pay.)
Although we consider ourselves union members once we sign this card, nobody will pay any dues until we have voted yes to win our union, bargained our first contract, and voted to accept our first contract. Join us - we are stronger together!
