In light of all the activity in Washington DC including several actions that will impact winter wildlands, we have provided a simple means of sending a note to your members of Congress. These individuals represent you and it is important for them to hear from constituents on how actions they take affect you.
While we have provided a general comment template, we encourage you to customize your letter based on issues that are important to you. The comment template is not updated from week-to-week, nor is it specific to a certain piece of legislation, so you will want to make sure you customize your letter to reflect the specific bill or issue that you want your Senator or Representative to know about. We encourage you to review recent articles on our website or that we have shared throgh our social media channels. Be sure to identify yourself as a constituent, note your personal connection to the public lands where you live, and why protecting the places you care about is important.
By using our form it helps us track who our members are reaching out to and it helps us to be more effective in our follow up as we meet with Congressional representatives and their staff. We have a strong track record and ability to meet with members of Congress from both sides of the aisle but our job is much easier and leads to productive outcomes when represenatives are hearing directly from constituents.
In addition to emailing your representatives, we encourage you to call their offices directly. You can reach the Capitol Switchboard by dialing 202-224-3121 and an operator will connect you with the office you are trying to reach.
