Donald Trump and Elon Musk's efforts to remake the federal government are unprecedented and unconstitutional. After threatening to end nearly all federal grants and loans, freezing nearly all foreign aid, and encouraging nearly all U.S. federal government employees to resign, they have dismantled a government agency authorized by Congress and fired tens of thousands of federal employees with no end in sight. In addition, Donald Trump has allowed a private citizen – who has not been elected nor confirmed by the Senate – to control the U.S. government's payment system at the Treasury Department. These actions have usurped and undermined constitutionally authorized power from Congress.
Congress must do everything in its power to fight back against Trump's executive branch coup, asserting its constitutional authority. Congress is empowered by the Constitution to determine government spending, not Elon Musk.
Tell your members of Congress to oppose Trump's unconstitutional power grab.
