Kinfolk Membership | Monthly Dues

We seek to assemble a crew that moves on the demands and actions that we as a community identified as most meaningful. As a crew, we can identify and create the spaces to come together, fight together, and thrive together. To be eligible to be a Kinfolk member, you must Identify as Black or a person of African descent and Be 18 years old or older. If you do not identify as Black or a person of African descent, we strongly recommend checking out our Accomplice Monthly Sustainer Program. As a 501(c)(4) organization, Tax ID: 83-0781079, we are uniquely positioned to engage directly in legislative lobbying and political activities that defend and enhance democracy for people of African descent in Oregon.

A Bold Call to Action: Imagine Black is dedicated to catalyzing the collective imagination of our community. We construct the societal alternatives we deserve—where our political participation and leadership forge paths towards a future vibrant with opportunity and justice.

With your contributions, we can: build Black voter power; fight to reset the tables of democracy; push for a just transition from an extractive economy to a regenerative economy; advance the call to radically reimagine our public safety and criminal justice system; and advocate for a universal, equitable, publicly-funded child care system in Oregon.

As donations to a 501(c)(4) organization, these gifts are not tax-deductible but are essential and extremely flexible, allowing us to influence legislation and ensure that Black voices lead the conversation and action. About Imagine Black: Imagine Black is a community organization dedicated to empowering the local Black community in Oregon, envisioning alternatives to current systems, and promoting political participation. Established in 2009, Imagine Black advocates for rights, resources, and recognition for people of African descent. Imagine Black is a 501(c)(4) multi-issue grassroots organization in partnership with our sibling 501(c)(3) organization, Imagine Black Futures.

Imagine Black is organized as a 501(c)4 tax-exempt organization that may engage in legislative lobbying and certain political activities.
