Texans impacted by the criminal justice system deserve a voice in our democracy. Right now, nearly half a million Texans are barred from voting due to outdated felony disenfranchisement laws—despite living in, working, and contributing to their communities.
We're calling on Chair Hughes and the Senate Committee on State Affairs, and Chair Shaheen and the House Elections Committee, to schedule hearings for SB 631/HB 4594, which would restore voting rights to people on probation or parole, and SB 2227/HB 590, which would require the state to notify individuals when they've regained eligibility to vote.
🗳️ Add your name to demand a hearing on these critical bills and help restore the promise of democracy for all Texans.
