Join the California Hunger Action Coalition's Week of Advocacy

Join the California Hunger Action Coalition for a week of advocacy to dismantle the injustices that perpetuate hunger in our state. The week of advocacy is a FREE event that brings together Californians from across the state to learn about policy strategies to improve food security and speak directly with California legislators and their staff about policy solutions.

January 15th: Hunger Advocacy Training 

  • This will be a training to review logistics for the Lobby Week and a look at this year's CHAC anti-hunger agenda, as well as a review of basic advocacy principles and techniques. The training will be held on January 15th at 10am and repeated in the afternoon at 3 pm. Who Should Attend: Anyone participating in the legislative visits currently being set up for Jan 19-22 including CHAC member organizations, grassroots community leaders, as well as people brand new to advocacy. Use this link on January 15th to join the call at the specified time. January 21st: Partner Advocacy Day

  • On January 21, 2021, we're linking arms with other advocates--child care and anti-poverty champions--for a “Child Care and End Child Poverty CA Advocacy Day.” The day will include webinar with invited legislators and a presentation from experts who will be presenting an "Overview of the Governor's Proposed 2021/22 Budget; What has the Governor proposed and where are our opportunities?" January 19-22nd: Lobby Visits

  • During the week of advocacy attendees will be broken into smaller groups for meetings organized by the California Hunger Action Coalition (CHAC) with their California state representatives. If you are not a member of CHAC, please use this form to register to participate in lobby visits and to help us match you to your California policymaker.
