Black Millennials 4 Flint is in support of the Flint community demanding a ruling of "NO" for the current Flint Water Crisis Settlement of $641 million. While we understand the urgency to sustain the fiscal health of local government, the public health of the people of Flint should be a top priority. The current settlement as it stands is not reflective of the lifetime and generations of Flint residents who will be impacted by the crisis. This is simply not a fair settlement.
We stand with other Flint community members demanding that the following additions are reflected in the settlement:
1) Clean Water
2) Repair the pipes inside AND outside of homes/residences (including replacement of home appliances)
3) Free health insurance for life that follows the individual even if they relocate (from Michigan)
4) $1.5 B in reparations (AFTER lawyer fees)
5) Remove the burden of medical proof for all individuals impacted by the crisis
6) Access to tuition-free college/universities within the City of Flint
