We Need Colorado Volunteers to Collect Signatures!

Every year in Colorado trophy hunters kill about 500 mountain lions and 2,000 bobcats through inhumane and unsporting means. Bobcats are trapped and killed for their fur to be sold abroad to countries like Russia and China. Mountain lions are unethically hunted using high-tech equipment, where they are chased by dogs wearing GPS collars, followed using telemetry equipment, then shot from trees.

There is no legitimate “management” reason to trophy-hunt mountain lions and bobcats. In fact, research shows killing Colorado's native wild cat species can increase conflicts with humans, livestock, and pets. No serious-minded wildlife biologist or ecologist responsibly argues that trophy hunters must shoot hundreds of lions to “control” their populations.

Together, we can protect Colorado's iconic mountain lions and bobcats from trophy hunting, but we need your help. Please sign up to volunteer with the citizen's initiative Cats Aren't Trophies to ban the trophy hunting of mountain lions and bobcats on the 2024 ballot today!
