The North Carolina Justice Center is working every day driving policy, litigating for justice, and creating change. Our mission is to end poverty in North Carolina by ensuring that every household has access to the resources, services, and fair treatment it needs to achieve economic security.
There are no easy solutions to ending poverty. The machinery of oppression is an intricate system, with laws, policies, beliefs, and practices all playing a role in creating disparities and perpetuating inequalities. But these same gears can also be aligned to drive meaningful change. We were built for this purpose.
Our work focuses on uncovering and harnessing the tools that create economic justice. We research and identify levers of power, litigate to disrupt and dismantle systems of inequity, and advocate to transform lives. In the coming year, especially as our neighbors in Western North Carolina begin to rebuild after the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene, we will confront these challenges with determination.
Together we can move toward a better North Carolina!
As someone who shares our vision for an equitable and just society, your financial support continues to be a crucial part of this process. Your contribution makes all the difference as we fight for quality public education, increased access to healthcare, safer jobs, more affordable housing, utilities and transportation, better treatment for immigrants, opportunities for those with criminal records, stronger consumer debt protections, and solutions to other systemic inequities. .
Our work would not be possible without your generous gift.
