ACTION ALERT: Tell your State Senator to Oppose "Don't Say Gay" Bill

The 'Don't Say Gay' fight has come to Georgia. This latest attack on LGBTQ kids is disturbing, but not new. A remarkably similar bill just passed Florida's legislature, and while we're busy reviewing the exact language of SB 613, here's what we know: This bill attemps to stifle the full inclusion of LGBTQ students in classrooms across Georgia.

We need your help! Send a message to your State Senator, RIGHT NOW, and urge them to oppose SB 613!

MORE INFO:

Like so many bills introduced this legislative session, the Georgia Don't Say Gay bill is government sanctioned censorship disguised as nondiscrimination. This bill gives the government broad censorship over honest conversations about our nation's history and the root causes of injustice and discrimination. The vague language in this legislation opens the door to a surge in lawsuits aimed at teachers over basic classroom instruction.

This bill goes even further by explicitly targeting LGBTQ students, families, and history by banning classroom discussion about sexual orientation and gender identity at private schools. As many as a third of same-sex couples are raising children and many families in Georgia have a family member who identifies as LGBTQ. Simply talking about your family could be a violation of the provisions in this bill. The bill's dangerously vague provisions would have a chilling effect on support for LGBTQ youth because it creates broad and costly new liabilities for the schools affected by this legislation.

We must let our State Senators know, RIGHT NOW, that we will not stand by and let discriminatory policies like this go unnoticed! Send your message NOW and let them know you do not support anti-LGBTQ legislation.
