Funding for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) is in danger. The administration released the President's budget for FY26, which includes a 40% cut to NIH, there continue to be delays in study section and advisory council meetings, and researchers continue to receive notices of grant cancellations. The Endocrine Society is urging Congress to protect funding for NIH and provide the agency with at least $51.303 billion.
Recently at a hearing about keeping America's leadership in biomedical research, a mother testified about the importance of NIH for her young daughter who participated in a clinical trial after being diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. We saw how powerful her testimony was and how all senators listened to her. Mothers have a particularly strong voice before Congress. Consequently, we ask you to send this campaign to any mother you know – your mom, your sister, your friend or neighbor – and ask her to join. If you are a mom, please take action and tell your Senators and Representatives how important NIH funding is to you and your family. If you are not a mom, you can join our campaign here.
