Tell BLM: Don’t move forward with ConocoPhillips' drilling project!

Despite a national health crisis, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is pushing forward with a massive new oil drilling project in the western Arctic. In the midst of a global pandemic, meaningful “virtual” participation from frontline Indigenous communities is nearly impossible — individuals are rightly focused on the health and safety of their families and communities, and many rural villages must also contend with limited Wi-Fi or cell phone connectivity. BLM's efforts to plow forward on public processes clearly shows lack of concern for those most impacted.

Sign this petition to BLM:
Please suspend any decision-making or movement on the Willow Master Development Plan Supplemental Draft Environmental Impact Statement (SDEIS). BLM's actions to move this and other projects forward during the COVID-19 pandemic bypass the National Environmental Policy Act's mandate for public involvement.

This is especially so for the Willow Plan which would significantly impact rural Alaska Native communities. And it could cause potentially disastrous impacts on the unique ecological and subsistence values found in the National Petroleum Reserve – Alaska in the western Arctic.
