As a SAARA volunteer you are an important member of our SAARA family and act as a representative of our organization to the community at large. For a better understanding of what you can expect as a volunteer and what is expected of you by SAARA, we ask you to read and sign the following Volunteer Contract.
SAARA will provide you:
Opportunities for life-enriching recovery experiences through meetings, classes, educational, social, and recreational events.
General training in the day-to-day operation of SAARA, as well as more specialized training as determined by staff.
SAARA asks that you:
Remain abstinent from alcohol and all non-prescribed drugs.
Work an agreed number of hours on a scheduled basis that is acceptable both to you and to SAARA. Failing to show up for prescheduled hours without contacting SAARA is grounds for dismissal. Three call-ins in a row is also grounds for dismissal.
Assist in light housekeeping duties outside of SAARA.
Attend all applicable groups occurring during the volunteer's time at SAARA.
Assist peers on computers, and with other tasks.
Conduct yourself in an appropriate and ethical manner at all times. Volunteers must refrain from lewd or abusive behavior, mind altering substances, and intimate, romantic, or otherwise inappropriate relationship with peers.
