DCC: Spend Money on Education, NOT on Arming Campus Security!

In the midst of this historic movement against racial injustice, we've reached a tipping point that is resulting in a national rethinking of the role of security and policing in communities and on campuses, long advocated for and led by Black activists in response to overwhelming evidence of racism.

As concerned members of the Dutchess Community College Community, we are calling on the administration to immediately pause plans for new resources in campus security that include armed officers until these national and local conversations have a chance to redefine policing and until ALL of the DCC community can consider what safety and security on a college campus should look like.
