Urge the TCRS to listen to tenants. Contact the Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System (TCRS), a pension fund that invests in Pretium Partners. Pretium Partners is a national company with over $51 billion in assets that owns Progress Residential. In 2020, the TCRS committed $125 million to Pretium Partners through the Pretium Single-Family Rental Fund III.

Progress Residential tenants have described large rent increases, unnecessary fees, mold, lack of communication, going weeks without heat, pest infestations, and such deplorable conditions that they have had to send their children to live with relatives or friends. Now, tenants allege that Progress Residential is using a third party utility company to charge them more hidden fees.

Due to the level of harm tenants have faced, tenants have been clear in their demand to Pretium Partners to have a seat at the table in deciding the future of their homes.

Let the Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System know that it must (1) stop future investments in Pretium Partners, (2) hold Pretium accountable to renters in Minneapolis and nationally, and the TCRS must (3) urge Pretium to meet with tenants to urgently address their concerns and the concerns of Progress renters across the country.
