Join us in thanking Secretary of State Shenna Bellows!

Secretary Bellows is thoughtful, fair, and diligent in her work. She has faced threats, harassment, and violence since she issued her decision that the former President Donald Trump is not qualified to appear on the Republican Presidential Primary ballot under the 14th amendment – which prohibits people who engage in insurrection against the US from holding elected office. Violent rhetoric is unacceptable and has no place in Maine. 

There are deep divisions in our country. We cannot possibly hope to address or heal those divisions if we continue to demonize and threaten each other or make personal attacks when we disagree.
