College students need help navigating unemployment, paying rent, and surviving online learning. We also need to continue getting out the vote, so we can elect leaders in November who will help us recover from the coronavirus. That's why we're getting out the vote this fall, through our Michigan program, with the help of our Rise.Vote tool. Rise.Vote is a tool we built with BallotReady to help students learn absentee ballot deadlines, find their polling place, learn about candidates, and make a plan to vote.
For the fall, we are recruiting 120 interns to help Rise mobilize college student voters leading up to the November 3rd general election. Rise Interns will earn a $100 stipend and commit to 50 Rise.Vote sign-ups. Intern activities will include digitally organizing and encouraging their peers to vote while sharing reliable information about voting.
Intern candidates should be creative, eager to learn and develop organizing skills, and entrepreneurial in that they are comfortable working to achieve goals on their own. No previous experience in campaigning or organizing is required. To apply, you must be currently enrolled in a Michigan college or university.
Interns will primarily work on their campuses and in tandem with a dedicated Student Organizing Fellow. We encourage students of all backgrounds and abilities to apply ASAP. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, so please apply as soon as possible. Please direct any questions or concerns to Hannah@RiseFree.org.
