Sunrise Movement
Start a Sunrise Movement Hub

Sunrise is a movement of young people to stop the climate crisis and create millions of good jobs in the process. We organize our schools and communities in hubs, groups of 5 to 30 people active members organizing to popularize the Green New Deal, advance the national climate emergency campaign, and win change on a local level.

Any three people in line with the Sunrise principles can call themselves part of the Sunrise Movement. However, effective organizing is a craft that must be developed and honed across time and challenge. That's what the New Hubs program seeks to do. For six weeks, we'll connect you with a coach and train you to build power in your high school, college, or city. You'll build a core team of leaders, begin holding meetings, learn the Sunrise Theory of Change and key organizing skills, and organize an action in your community to advocate for climate justice and stand up to the far-right. If you are a high school or college student interested in starting a hub, you can read more about and apply to join the Student Organizing Program here.

Before you apply, check this link to check to see if you live near an existing hub that you might want to join.

As you're filling out this application, if you have any questions please contact Tori Whitlock, tori@sunrisemovement.org, or savitri@sunrisemovement.org for questions specific to starting a high school/college hub.
