All NAACP members across New York State are invited to attend our upcoming quarterly meeting on Saturday, May 10th in Albany, NY—our first full gathering as a State Conference since the passing of our beloved leader, Dr. Hazel N. Dukes. Together, we will reflect on her powerful legacy and discuss how we will honor her memory in both action and record, including plans to chronicle the history of the New York State Conference.
Our agenda includes important officer and committee reports, preparation for the upcoming NAACP National Convention, and a presentation on the latest updates to our national bylaws. You'll also hear from our new State President, L. Joy Williams, who will share her vision for the Conference and the work ahead.
This meeting is not just for branch leadership—all members are welcome and encouraged to attend as we unite in purpose, build community, and take collective action. Following our business session, we will partner with the Albany Branch to engage and educate Black voters ahead of their municipal elections, demonstrating our shared commitment to civic participation and voter empowerment throughout the state.
Let's come together in strength, in memory, and in mission.
