On Tuesday, December 10, 2019, Rep. Raul Grijalva, the Chair of the House Natural Resources Committee, spearheaded an effort with 11 bipartisan House colleagues to join our fight to prevent Congress from funding the disastrous “Path Forward” plan that would result in the removal of 130,000 wild horses and burros from public lands over the next ten years.
You live in a district represented by a member of Congress who has not indicated their support as of yet for the effort described above led by Grijalva. Right now, the Humane Society of the United States and the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals are working with the livestock industry to lobby members against protections for wild horses and burros from accelerated mass roundups!
Please take one moment to contact your representative and urge them to support language that would prevent the BLM from implementing sterilization surgeries and deny funding for an unprecedented number of roundups that could begin as early as next year.
