Strike Commitment
2024 Monterey County Strike Commitment

JOIN YOUR CO-WORKERS WHO ARE MAKING THE COMMITMENT TO STRIKE IF NEEDED – THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS CAN INVEST IN COUNTY WORKERS AND THE COMMUNITY WE SERVE.

We all want what's best for our community, our families, and ourselves, but the County is placing our community in an impossible position by refusing to agree to the improvements in pay and policies that are imperative if we are to address the off the chart vacancy levels, some of the highest cost of living in the Country, the lack of training and promotability, and the desperate need for mutual respect.  For years our situation has been getting worse and worse.

Going on strike if needed is the only way to make county management and the Monterey County Board of Supervisors understand that we mean business when we say Monterey County can and must do better – for our community and our workforce.

Are you ready to stand with your co-workers to protect the services we provide to win respect and dignity from the County? Are YOU ready to STRIKE?

IMPORTANT NOTE: Completing the strike commitment card does not mean we are going on strike. There must be an official vote to authorize a strike by union members.

Strike Commitment

By marking YES, I understand that by striking I agree to be at my worksite picket line during my normal working hours - I am withholding my labor and will not cross the picket line. I understand that for the duration of the strike, I will not be paid.
